purchased the mount & Peak Design magnetic charging base and I am very pleased with how secure the mount is and how firmly it holds my iPhone. The only small gripe is that the mount in the corner of the AC vent does slightly interfere with the operation of the vent vanes. I believe I followed all instructions and have the mount properly located in the corner of the vent, but there is still some slight rubbing of the vanes too the back of the mount.
This mount doesn't hold my Galaxy S22 Ultra without a case. I didn't ever try to install once the magnet didn't pick up phone.

In order to work, any magnetic mount requires either another magnet or a ferrite steel to attach to. Without either of those, there is no magnetic attraction force.
Since your S22 Ultra does not have magnets (and it is not steel) it will not work, as you are correctly noting.
There are only a handful of phones that will work without a case, we list them all in the product page.
I never saw where they say you need a third party part on most phones for this to be an effective mount.:(
I have these mounts in a couple vehicles, and love them. I was disappointed though to find that the magnetic charging mount doesn't fast charge my S24. My power port, and plug all are capable....it's the mount that is the culprit.
Very sturdy and well made. Would have bought one for my wife’s car, but you don’t have one for a Honda Pilot.
