Bought the Qi2 MagSafe Charging phone holder, MountingBase, and Articulating arm for my 2018 Colorado Z71. This review is for the Qi2.
The Good: Product quality and accessories are impeccable, while the magnet may need to be a bit stronger it works as advertised, even the packaging is great (hated to throw away the boxes).
The Bad: I see they don't offer the Qi2 charger anymore for the 2015-2022 Colorado's and I agree with that decision for a number of reasons. These Colorados us USB-A connectors and the product should have come with a USB-A to USB-C (but they were thinking best technology, not best compatibility), so they recommend getting a USB-C 12-volt socket so you can use the USB-C to USB-C cable. Doing that doesn't allow you to use your infotainment system display and you can only use your phone screen. I use my infotainment system display for navigation and my Qi2 has become a Non-Charging MagSafe Phone Mount and I use a USB-A to USB-C cable plugged into the Colorados factory USB-A port and my phone; to charge my phone and display on the infotainment system display.
I highly recommend the offerings the list now AND Hope they reimburse me the difference between the CHARGING and NON-CHARGING MagSafe Mounts.
Been looking for a magsafe mount for my cell and this offroam one is an excellently engineered fit. It charges and so far my Galaxy Z Fold has held firm. There are cheaper alternatives, but this product will never make you regret you spent the money.
I bought this for our truck and it works awesome. We both bought stronger magnet cases and it holds the phones stronger. I eventually bought a longer arm for it so I can record forward over the hood. Highly recommend.....
It securely mounts in my 2024 Crosstrek, holds phone solid and charges great. I paired it with a 1.5 foot dual right angle usb cable for a clean install. This mount is great. Highly recommended.
