Really like the design and ease of use. Had issues with bracket mounting. Understand that not all vehicle molding & trim will have enough overlap to provide enough clamp surface for this design. Fixed by modifying and removing material in air vent housing.

You're correct—there isn't enough overlap for mounting in the 2003-2009 4Runners. That's why our design slides the backing plate into the gap between the bezel and the air vent, so there's no need for drilling, trimming, or any vehicle modifications.

I love this thing, though if your tall, I would recommend the long arm so you can go higher and still have enough length to lean right or left. This is amazing. Rock solid support for my 4th Gen, 4Runner.
This vent mount is by far the best I could find for the 4runner. And no drilling required!!
Mount was extremely easy to install. Came with a solid and sturdy, adjustable arm. The phone holder itself, has a srong hold on phone, yet easy to remove. I have faith that this will be the last phone mount I ever purchase for this vehicle. 10/10 would recommend.
I was hesitant because of the price, but after installing this in my 2009 4Runner, I can say it is totally worth it. The mount is so solid that I can not only insert the phone one handed, but I can also press the power and volume side buttons without the phone moving at all. It is easy to position in your line of sight for navigation and does not block vent airflow. Basically, it is exactly what I've been looking for and I would 100% buy it again!
