This three-piece phone mount kit consists of a Toyota 4Runner Gen 5 specific air vent mounting base (Offroam Clamp), a double socket arm, and a universal spring loaded holder for cell phones. This mount kit is based on a 20mm diameter grooved aluminium ball and socket system with a single adjustment knob in the middle of the socket arm that allows nearly infinite adjustment of your phone to your preferred position. The patent-pending design allows for easy installation without drilling, while serving as a sturdy mounting base for heavy off-road use. The Offroam clamp does not block the air flow and the coupling arm allows positioning the phone away from the air vent while also keeping your phone from blocking the windshield. Offroam mount removes easily without leaving marks on your dashboard. This phone mount is the perfect complement your go-anywhere 4Runner.

This mount is pure quality, sturdy, steady, and is a perfect fit in my 4Runner. Because it mounts above the vent, it doesn't block airflow or the CD player. It does obstruct a view of the clock somewhat, but that's mainly because I choose to have it hold my phone horizontally. Mounted that way, my phone becomes one with the dash and doesn't block my view of the road even a little. Great product - I highly recommend it.

I am very pleased with this mount; it is much more secure than a window suction cup mount. It allows for a position slightly lower than the windshield mount, as a result covers less of your field of view (creates less blind zones). Having your phone in front of one of the AC vents helps the phone cool down, during map navigation / music playing (my phone previously overheated and shut down at least twice during summer trip, as it was stuck to the windshield.)
The mount itself is rock solid, after all of the hardware has been tightened up (make sure to not overtighten it). the phone clamp grasps firmly, and rubber lips prevent any damage to your phone's body. and the arm, once tightened, will not sag under the weight of your phone. I will once again place emphasis on not overtightening the screws, because while phone mount is rock solid, the plastic dash it's mounted to, will creak time to time, and given enough applied pressure, could potentially crack (if you rest your leg on it for example).
By far the best mount I've had, and it was the type of mount I've looked for years, before finally discovering it this year on this site !
